Prior to launching Pushstart, the founders noticed a common shortcoming within the industry: User Experience (UX) and Industrial Design (ID) were often treated as separate entities, housed in different agencies and departments. This often led to an all-too-fragmented approach: too many silos, not enough alignment, and overly-redundant processes.
At the time of these realizations—over 15 years ago—the intersection of UX and ID did not have as clear of a definition as is does today. While product design traditionally focused on physical objects, the rise of software and digital interfaces broadened the scope to include both experience design and interface design. In a direct response to the interconnected nature of all things coming online and a need to integrate digital with physical, Pushstart was born.
Having worked in corporate environments prior to creating Pushstart, the founders had gained invaluable insights into corporate constraints and manufacturing processes. Leveraging this knowledge, they developed a framework that streamlines the design process and establishes meaningful partnerships along the way.
